Mr. Holmes is a native Texan born in Beaumont, Texas.He was educated at Rice University (B.A. cum laude 1989) in Houston, Texas and at The Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University (J.D. cum laude 1992) in Dallas, Texas. Following law school, he worked briefly in Dallas, Texas before moving to Henderson, Texas in 1993 to join the firm of Wellborn * Houston, LLP where he spent fourteen years representing plaintiffs in the Eastern District of Texas. He is a charter member of the T. John Ward American Inn of Court. In November of 2006, Mr. Holmes announced the formation of The Law Office of James Holmes, P.C. where he continues his practice in class action litigation, insurance coverage and civil trial law.
